James Forrand, 76, of Abington, MA died Saturday, November 4, 2017, in his home surrounded by his family.
James was born in Abington, Massachusetts, the son of Joseph and Elinor (Morrill) Forrand. He was a graduate of Abington High School. Before becoming one of Jehovah's Witnesses, he married Susan Henderson on June 13, 1964. He then went on to graduate from Wentworth Institute of Technology. Upon receiving his degree in Mechanical Design Engineering, he went on to work for Webb-Norfolk Conveyor in Cohasset, MA. He eventually transferred to Control Engineering, a division of Jervis B. Webb Co. in Harbor Springs, MI in 1994.
He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1974 and enjoyed talking to others about his faith. He will be remembered most for his infectious smile, his sense of humor, and his concern for others. He demonstrated this with everyone he met.
James is survived by his wife of 53 years, Susan Forrand and three daughters, Teresa Brockington of Brockton, MA (son-in-law Kevin), Joyce Lewis of Interlochen, MI (son-in-law Alan), Virginia Evans of Boyne City, MI (son-in-law Terry), six grandchildren: Hannah Dennis, Rebekah Cesaire, Benjamin Brockington, Sarah Brockington, Joseph Brockington and Jocelyn Lewis and three great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Joseph Forrand (sister-in-law Franny), Jerry Forrand (late sister-in-law Kathy), one sister, Marilyn Burke (brother-in-law Steven) and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017, at 2:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4925 Boyne City/East Jordan Road, East Jordan, Michigan 49727.
