Lois M. McCurdy, 78, of Boyne City died on Sunday, December 24, 2017, at Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan.

  She was born on August 19, 1939, in East Jordan, the daughter of Eugene and Dorothy (Nuckles) McCurdy and graduated from Boyne City High School.

  On November 10, 1996, in Cheboygan, she married Joseph Gerant, III.

  Lois loved to paint pictures.  She enjoyed gardening and finding great values and the local thrift shops.

  She is survived by her husband, Joseph Gerant, III of Boyne City; four children, Colleen (Jeff) Froats of Alanson, Diane (Roger) Shaw of Boyne Falls, Jonathan (Michelle) Archer of Boyne City and Lewis (Laura) Archer of East Jordan; numerous grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren;  two brothers, Patrick E. McCurdy of Florida and David McCurdy of California; two sisters, Patricia McCurdy of California and Rose Bechtel of Arizona; as well as several nieces and nephews.  Lois was preceded in death by one son, Patrick Kelly Collins; one daughter, Susan Archer; and her parents.

  A memory sharing service will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan.

  The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:00 Noon until service time.
