Mary Jane Carey, 66, of East Jordan, died Monday, March 27, 2017, at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.

  She was born on October 19, 1950, in Charlevoix, the daughter of Donald and Mamie (McWatters) Bolser.  She grew up in East Jordan and graduated from East Jordan High School in 1968.

    On November 16, 1968, in East Jordan, she married Gary “Butch” Hull.  He preceded her in death on March 2, 1998.

  On August 25, 2001, in East Jordan, she married George M. Carey.

  Mary Jane had worked for 4Front Credit Union and retired in 2000.  She had also worked at Savvy Body Armor in Central Lake.

  She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxilary Post #7580 in East Jordan and the Rebec-Hosler-Sweet  Post #227 of the American Legion Auxilary in East Jordan.

  She enjoyed bowling, camping and playing cards.  She loved spending time with her family.

  Mary Jane is survived by her husband, George M. Carey of East Jordan; two children, Mary Alice Hull of Central Lake and Joseph Henry (Veronica) Hull of Central Lake; four step children, Charles James, Jr. of Central Lake, Kim Hazel of East Jordan, Helen (Howard) Potter of Manton and Michelle (Ken) Frashier of Kalkaska; ten grandchildren, Hunter, Eddie, Hannah, Paul, Stephen, Mason, Ethan, Micheal, Molly and Andrea; numerous great grandchildren; brother, Donald (Cheryl) Bolser of Belleville; and sister, Evelyn (Bud) Hull of East Jordan.  She was also preceded in death by her parents.

  Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan. Rev. Jimmie McWatters will officiate with interment following at Morehouse Cemetery, Echo Township, Antrim County, MI.

  The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to East Jordan Ambulance Association.
