Mary Ann Whipp, age 68, passed away June 24, 2017 at her home in Boyne City.

Mary Ann was the beloved wife of Dave Whipp, Sr., and the cherished mother of Dave (Alyce) Whipp, Jr. and Megan (Courtney) Timmons. She was adored by her three grandchildren, Dexter Whipp, Renn Whipp and Eleanor Timmons. She is survived by her uncle (James), brothers (Pat and John) and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Mary Ann loved many kinds of art, poetry and jazz. When visiting her daughter in Chicago she never missed a visit to the Art Institute of Chicago. She was also an avid reader and an active member of book clubs in Clarkston and Boyne City. She enjoyed travel, especially with her husband Dave. In 2014, Mary Ann and Dave traveled 3,500 miles via sailboat from Morocco to Barbados. Yoga was a significant influence in Mary Ann’s life. Before her passing she attended almost daily yoga classes and even once taught a class when on a cruise with her husband. As a teacher, Mary Ann taught both English and film. Classic films were her specialty and Bette Davis’ Now, Voyager was one of her favorites.

Above all she was a wonderful woman who simply enjoyed living. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
