Willard Thomas Muma, 81, of East Jordan and formerly of Ellsworth, died Monday, January 8, 2018, at Grandvue Medical Care Facility, East Jordan.

  He was born on September 5, 1936, in Elmira, Michigan.

   He served in the United States Army.  Willard had lived in Ellsworth most of his life but moved to East Jordan just prior to moving into Grandvue Medical Care Facility. He had worked many years at Gulf and Western, now known as Dura Automotive, in East Jordan.  He retired in 1998.

  Willard enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool and going to the casino.

  Willard is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Jeanette Muma of East Jordan; three sisters, Viola Davis, Judy (Lloyd) McPherson and Nina Treece; two brothers-in-law, Jack Sevenski and Ronald Florenski; two step children, Richard (Carol) Hoffman and Sandy (Timothy) Pienta; five grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.  Willard was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas B. and Frankie (Rhodes) Muma; one brother, James W. Muma; and four sisters, Clara Wingo, Lula Bell Sevenski, Edna Florenski and Alberta Treece.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at the Jordan Valley Baptist Church, East Jordan with Pastor Silas Doctor officiating.

  The family was served by the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc., East Jordan.
