Alfred D. Hosler, 86, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, May 29, 2019.
He was born on March 29, 1933, in East Jordan, the son of Daniel and Elma (Decker) Hosler. Alfred served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
On June 2, 1956, in East Jordan, he married Ruth Farley. She preceded him in death in 1975. He then married Marlene Jaybor and she passed away in 1995. On February 1, 2003, in East Jordan, he married Patricia A. Beal Howard. She preceded him in death on May 21, 2012. Also preceded in death by a daughter in 2018, Cathy Hosler, and 3 great grandchildren.
Al had worked over 31 years for General Motors and retired in 1987. He was a member of the Lighthouse Missionary Church in East Jordan. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, gardening, snowplowing and cutting wood. He loved his canine companion, Percilly (“Silly”.)
He is survived by one son, John Hosler of Flint; four daughters, Donna (Ron) Morris of Flint, Alice (Cecil “Chris”) Harris of Oran, Missouri and Phyllis (Tim Zimpel) Hosler of Rocky Comfort, Missouri; several step children; nine grandchildren, Kimmy, Joey, Justin, Christopher, Elaine, Normy, Damien, Ruthy and April; thirteen great grandchildren; several step grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Pat (Ken) Alexander, Sally Scott, Judy Hosler, David Hosler, Susie Hosler, Ruth Kent, Marie Louis, Clifford Chew.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 3, 2019, at 11:00 A.M. at the Lighthouse Missionary Church in East Jordan. Rev. Bart Adams will officiate. Memorials may be given to East Jordan Ambulance Association or the Lighthouse Missionary Church. Arrangements by Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan.
