Anita A. “Neets” Thomas Petrie, 57, died Friday, October, 4, 2019, in Petoskey.
She was born on July 9, 1962, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Sherman Daniel and Diana Louise (Beishlag) Thomas. She moved to East Jordan when she was 5 years old. She graduated from East Jordan High School in 1980.
Anita worked in car sales at a variety of businesses. He name tag said, “Anita Car”.
She was a member of the Business Network International, known as “BNI”, and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Jordan.
She was a member of multiple softball teams for more than 35 years, including the E.J.I.W. softball team. She was also a long term member of the Thomas Well Drilling Bowling Team. Anita loved outdoor activities, including hiking, camping, kayaking, two tracking and driving the boat so Terry could fish.
Anita had the “Gift of Gab” while she was strong in her convictions, strong in her faith, and loved unconditionally.
She is survived by her husband Terry Petrie of East Jordan; two sons, Thomas D. (Alissa Joy) Pentecost of Grand Rapids and Tony (Sophia Ball) Pentecost of East Jordan; one grandson, Remy Pentecost; three step children, Lisa (Jon) Frederickson of Roscommon, Erin (Ben) Woodworth of Rapid City and TJ (Debbie Smith) Petrie of Traverse City; three step grandchildren, Sean Frederickson, Ayla Frederickson and Lizzy Petrie; her father, Sherman “Dan” Thomas of East Jordan; two brothers, Brian (Theresa) Thomas and Kevin (Karen) Thomas, all of East Jordan; several nieces and nephews; and many loving friends.
Anita was preceded in death by her mother, Dee Thomas, and one brother, Steven Thomas.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Jordan.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan.
