Beverly Merle Walker, 88, of East Jordan, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 5, 2017, at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.

  Beverly was born on March 4, 1929, in Boyne City, the daughter of Merle and Beatrice Miller.  Beverly grew up in Boyne City and attended Boyne City   Public Schools.  On February 13, 1946, in Boyne City, she married Robert J. Walker.  They owned and operated Walker Auto Parts near East Jordan from 1959, until his retirement in 1987.   Robert passed away on March 29, 2004.

  She was a member of East Jordan United Methodist Church.

  Mrs. Walker is survived by two daughters, Karen (Keith Ogden) Walker of East Jordan and Connie (Dennis) Foltz of Indian River, MI.; four grandchildren, Jeff (Lisa) Foltz of Atlanta, MI, Tim (Crystalynn) Foltz of Mason, MI, Daniel (Jayeon) Foltz of Korea and Nelson "Will" Ogden of East Jordan; two great grandchildren, Kevin (Kerstin Williams) Foltz of Schweinfurt, Germany and Mariyah Foltz of Mason, MI; one great-great granddaughter, Fenja Foltz of Schweinfurt, Germany; seven step great grandchildren; one step great-great grandson; one brother, Terry Miller of Boyne Falls, MI; one sister-in-law, Beverly Dyer of Boyne City; and several nieces and nephews.  She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth Dyer, Norman Miller and Steven Miller.

  Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 12, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. at the East Jordan United Methodist Church.  Rev. Craig Pahl will officiate.  Interment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, East Jordan, MI.

   The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan, MI.  Memorials may be given to Robert and Beverly Walker Fund for East Jordan, c/o Charlevoix County Community Foundation, PO Box 718, East Jordan, MI 49727 or the East Jordan United Methodist Church, PO Box 878, East Jordan, MI.  49727.
