Clayton G. Meade

  Clayton Guy Meade, 81, of East Jordan, died on Friday, July 12, 2019, at The Brook of Boyne City.

  He was born on September 16, 1937, in Detroit, the son of Warren Elmer and Thelma Alida (Leland) Meade.

  Clayton worked most of his whole life as a mason in construction.  He also was a member of the Michigan National Guard.

  On March 17, 1990, in East Jordan, he married Jane Graham Mayhew.  She preceded him in death on February 7, 2017.

  Clayton is survived by five children, Pat (Brad) Bloomquist of Grand Rapids, Scott (Cindy) Meade of East Jordan, Kevin (Pam) Mayhew of Moore, Oklahoma, Brad (Kathy) Mayhew of Lafayette, Indiana and Kelli (Tim) Streufert of East Jordan,; thirteen grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.  He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Melinda Meade, his parents and two brothers.

 Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2019, at 2:00 P.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan.  Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery, East Jordan.

  The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until service time.

   In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions to be directed to the East Jordan Lions Club.
