Dorothy Lee (Stradinger) Lane

  Dorothy L. Lane, 84, died Friday, August 25, 2017, at her home near East Jordan.

  She was born on December 4, 1932, in Mancelona, the daughter of Leonard and Velma (Wiederhold) Stradinger.  In 1952, she graduated from high school in Mancelona.

  On April 18, 1952, in Mancelona, she married Reno Earl Lane.  He preceded her in death on February 22, 2017. 

  Dorothy worked in the office of the East Jordan Co-op for many years and retired in 1982.

  She enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, sewing, knitting, playing cards, baking and making quilts for her grandchildren.  Dorothy also enjoyed feeding and watching wildlife especially birds and spending  time with her feline friend, Suzy.

  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Jordan. 

  She is survived by three children, Rebecca Bigari of Iron River, Timothy (Tammy) Lane of East Jordan and Victoria (Joe) Wagner of Boyne City; seven grandchildren, Kristina (Eric) Nelson of Greenville, WI, Kerry (Jon) Hurley of Sturgeon Bay, WI, Benjamin (Trina) Sweet of Elmira, Sara (Robert) Huffman of East Jordan, Katie (Ben) Bluhm of Marshfield, WI, Kim (Clint) Kavanagh of Sturgeon Bay, WI and Mike Oliver of Boyne City; seven great grandchildren, Chloe Huffman, Delaney Huffman, Charlotte Huffman, Evangeline Sweet, Maverick Sweet, Maggie Kavanagh, Deya Bluhm and new baby Kavanagh; as well several nieces and nephews. 

  Dorothy was also preceded in death by one son, Richard Lane; one grandson; Brandon Sweet; one great grandson, Devin Huffman; her parents; one baby brother, Richard; and two sisters, Betty and Joan.

  Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Jordan.  Rev. Chet Collins will officiate.  Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire.

  The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 9:30 A.M. until service time at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Memorials may be directed to the Charlevoix County Humane Society, 614 Beardsley Street, Boyne City MI 49712.  A special thank you to Dorothy’s in home caregivers.
