Georgia Rana (McKinnon) Quackenbush

Georgia Rana (McKinnon) Quackenbush, 77, of Boyne City, MI, passed away peacefully at Hiland Cottage Hospice House in Petoskey on May 13, 2019, surrounded by her family. Georgia was born in Saginaw, MI on April 14, 1942, to Donald and Monica (Jankowski) McKinnon.

She grew up in Traverse City, MI, and graduated from Traverse City High School in 1960. After graduation, she moved to Saginaw, MI and became a beautician. She married Robert (Bob) Quackenbush on January 3, 1964. Georgia was an avid gardener known as the “lady in the two-story white house on the corner with the beautiful flowers”. Georgia was not afraid to tackle anything - from sewing Halloween costumes to refinishing furniture.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert (Bob) Quackenbush; daughters, Stacie (David) Newmann of Rockford, MI, Lisa (Mark) Gandy of Midland, MI, and Becky (James) Farley of Boyne City, MI; her beloved grandchildren, Alexandra, Zoe, Joshua, Lilly, Kaitlin and William; and great grandson, James; and many cherished nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and sisters, Barbara McCoy and Marilyn Bignell.

Cremation has taken place and she will be laid to rest at the McKinnon family plot in Prescott, WI. The family will gather at a later date to celebrate Georgia’s life.
