Gloria M. (Shaw) Timmons

Gloria M. Timmons, 90, of East Jordan died Monday, February 18, 2019, at Culver Meadows Adult Foster Care Home in Traverse City.

  Gloria was born on April 12, 1928, in East Jordan, the daughter of Darus and Ellen (Nowland) Shaw.  She graduated from East Jordan High School in 1947. 

  On October 30, 1947, in Charlevoix, she married Dewey J. Laisure.   He preceded her in death on May 26, 1990.    She married Donald Timmons on October 16, 1993, in East Jordan. He preceded her in death on April 4, 2007.

    Gloria was an Avon Representative in East Jordan for 50 years.  She enjoyed gardening and bird watching.

  She is survived by two sons, Preston (Mary) Laisure of East Jordan and Donald (Laura) Laisure of Kingsley; four granddaughters, Lucretia, Jasmine, Rose and Daria Laisure; three grandsons, Robert, Johnathan and Darus Laisure; and three great grandchildren, Richard, Martin and Clara.  She was also preceded in death by one son, Douglas F. Laisure on January 10, 2008.

  Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan.  Rev. Daniel Swank of the Bethel Baptist Church in East Jordan will officiate.  Interment in the spring will be at Sunset Hill Cemetery in East Jordan.

  The family will receive friends on Thursday 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc in East Jordan.  Memorials may be given to the Bethel Baptist Church, 812 Ontario Street, East Jordan, Michigan 49727.
