Gwinda Darene McDowell, 63, of East Jordan, died Friday, June 16, 2017, at Boulder Park Terrace in Charlevoix.

  She was born on June 26, 1953, in Goodrich, Michigan, the daughter of Garrett and Jeane (Parker) McDowell.

  Gwinda grew up in Ortonville, Michigan, graduated from Brandon High School in Ortonville and received her degree in Education from Bethel College. 

  She had worked as an apartment complex manager and for the Hope Network.

  Gwinda loved animals especially her cat “Meggie”.

  She is survived by two sisters, Judy (Walt) Moblo of East Jordan and Gayla (Duane) Donaldson of East Jordan; one brother, Garry (Mary) McDowell of Ortonville; as well as several nieces and nephews.

  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan.  Rev. James L. Jordan of the Lighthouse Missionary Church in East Jordan will officiate.  Interment will be in Southern Cemetery in Central Lake.
