Howard “Woody” Woodbury, 81, died Thursday, May 25, 2017, at his home in Ironton.

  Woody was born on January 28, 1936, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Howard William and Thelma Elizabeth (Orr) Woodbury.

  He graduated from Swartz Creek High School in 1955.  Woody served in the United States Air Force for four years.

  On September 9, 1967, in Charlevoix, he married Sharon Cunningham of Charlevoix.  They made their home in Ironton.

  Woody was a plumber by trade and owned his own business, “Woody’s Sewer and Drain Cleaning”.

  From a young age, he loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing.  Sharon and he spent their years together traveling and hunting.

  He is survived by his wife, Sharon Woodbury of Ironton and two brothers, Lynn and Leigh Woodbury, both of Boyne City.

  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at 1:00 P.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan.  The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until service time.  Memorials may be directed to the Hospice of Northwest Michigan, 220 West Garfield Charlevoix, Michigan 49720 (www.hospicenwm.org).
