Marilyn J. (Bennett) Goebel

  Marilyn J. Goebel, 68, went to be with her Lord on Friday, December 6, 2019, at Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan.

  She was born on April 17, 1951, in Charlevoix, the daughter of Warren “Turk” and E. Suzie (Whiteford) Bennett.  She graduated from East Jordan High School in 1969.    On February 9, 1974, in East Jordan, she married Walter "Butch" Goebel, Jr. He preceded her in death on June 13, 2013.

  She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Jordan.  A few years back, Marilyn had worked for Hallmark Cards.  She enjoyed watching the Hallmark channel.  Marilyn loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

  Marilyn is survived by four children, Tracee C. (Ryan Shelden) Goebel of Long Beach, California, Nichole S. (Matthew) Imel of East Jordan, Jenny (Bryan) Banfield of East Jordan and Joseph W. (Daniel)  Goebel of Chicago; six grandchildren, Garrett Imel, Miles Imel, Oliver Imel, Adia Banfield, Finnley Banfield and Evelyn Banfield; one brother, Norman (Rhoda) Bennett of Zephyrhills, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Cindy Bennett and Kitty Bennett both of East Jordan; and several nieces and nephews.  She was also preceded in death by one son, Walter P. Goebel, III and two brothers, Randy Bennett and Neil Bennett.

  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2019, at 11:00 A.M. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Jordan. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, East Jordan.

  The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan. Memorials may be given to Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Jordan.  Condolences may be sent to www.penzienfh.com.
