Mary Jean Stemkoski went to be with her Lord on Friday, June 9, 2017. 

  She was born on June 15, 1936, in Riggsville, Michigan.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Genevieve and George Stemkoski, brothers, Ed Stemkoski, John Stemkoski and George Stemkoski, and sisters, Rachel Stemkoski and Lois Snider.  She is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

  Despite her being limited by physical handicap, she had a courageous sense of humor, was stylish, and was very active in her younger years.  In her later years, she was very well cared for at her home by the great staff at Autumnview House in East Jordan, and even authored a cookbook.  Jean always maintained a positive attitude and managed a smile, and was a great inspiration to all who came into contact with her.

  A graveside service will be held Friday, July 7, 2017, at 10:00am, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Riggsville.

  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Summertree, Inc., 210 N. Lake Street, Boyne City, MI 49712, with “Autumnview House” in the notation line.
