Nancy Jill Norton, 60, of Boyne City, died Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at her home in Boyne City.
She was born on July 3, 1958, in Rockwood, Michigan, the daughter of Dale and Marie (Checchi) Laginess. She grew up in the Flat Rock – Monroe Area of Michigan and graduated from Southgate Anderson High School in 1976.
On September 3, 2005 in Boy Township, Charlevoix County, she married Gene Norton.
She loved fishing, camping and celebrating July 4th.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene Norton of Boyne City; two sons, Raymond (Shirley) Dyer of Boyne City and David (Donna) Dyer of East Jordan; three step children, Shawn (Catrina) Norton of East Jordan, Damon (Amy) Norton of Port Sanilac and Rachael (James) McGee of Fountain; sixteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; six siblings, Jackie Wilson of Taylor, Dale (Linda) Laginess of Dundee, Michigan and St. Petersburg, Florida, Chuck (Beverly) Laginess of Ratcliff, Kentucky, Joanne (Jimmy) Phillips of Bretheran; Steve (Tammy) Laginess of Lansing and Joseph Checchi of Lansing; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Marie Laginess.
The family will have a private visitation at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan. Memorial contributions may be directed to American Cancer Society.
