Nancy J. Shipe, 83, of East Jordan died Sunday, March 19, 2017 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.

  She was born on April 3, 1933, in Detroit, the daughter of Joseph and Marciel (Moore) Pisa.

  On October 13, 1954 in Redford, she married Lyle K. Shipe.

  They made their home in East Jordan.  Nancy graduated from East Jordan High School in 1970.

  Nancy worked at the Michigan Snowmobiler Magazine from the inception in 1967 until her retirement, as President, in 2009. 

  She was a member of the East Jordan Snowmobile Club, American Legion Post #227 Auxiliary and the First Presbyterian Church in East Jordan.  She enjoyed spending time at the casino and coloring pictures for relatives and friends.

  Nancy is survived by her husband, Lyle K. Shipe of East Jordan; three children, David (Robin) Shipe of West Branch, Patti (Bill) Tisron of East Jordan and Dennis (Ayn) Shipe of Battle Creek; five grandchildren, Bill (Chelsea) Tisron, Jr. of Lake City, Shane (Rachael) Tisron of East Jordan, John Miller of Rose City, Brian Shipe of Phoenix, Arizona, Judy (Roger) Grant of Beavercreek, Ohio; and eight great grandchildren, Natalee, Waylon, Alyssa, Angela, Kristi, Avery, Michaela and Delaney.  She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Beth Pisa; and one sister, Joyce Landry.

  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan. Rev. Lois Aroian of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate.
