Rex A. Bartholomew

  Rex A. Bartholomew, Sr., 71, of East Jordan, died Tuesday, April 10, 2018, Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire.

  He was born on December 22, 1946, in Charlevoix, the son of Emmanuel F. and Helen (Hammond) Bartholomew. 

  Rex grew up in East Jordan and graduated from East Jordan High School in 1965. 

  On August 13, 1997, in Indiana, he married Nancy Ann McKinnon.  She preceded him in death on February 8, 2014.

   Rex had worked for the East Jordan Iron Works, now known as EJ, USA, Inc. in East Jordan.  He retired in 2009, after forty four years.

  He enjoyed farming, hunting, bowling, playing pool and playing cards.

  He is survived by four children, Rex A. (Christine M.) Bartholomew, Jr. of Ellsworth, Roxann Bartholomew of East Jordan, Teresa Bartholomew of Traverse City and Virginia Murphy of East Jordan; two step children, Kim McKinnon of Grosse Pointe Woods and Karla Rosendall of Alto; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, David (Cathy) Bartholomew of East Jordan; and one niece, Kelly (Drew) Bartell of Haslett.  Rex was also preceded in death by a son, Joseph Michael Murphy on January 15, 2014.

  A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at the Lighthouse Missionary Church in East Jordan.  Rev. James L. Jordan will be officiating.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at Morehouse Cemetery, Echo Township, Antrim County, MI.
