Rose Marie Sadlowski, age 88, slipped away peacefully on June 1, 2019, at Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan, Michigan. She was the eldest of three children born to Joseph and Aurelia Armbruster in Detroit Michigan. She was greeted at heaven’s gate by her loving husband, Ralph Sadlowski of 58 years; brother, Joseph Armbruster; son, Robert and her parents. She is survived by her brother, Robert Armbruster; daughter, Ruth (Steve) Bernier; son, Ronald (Kathy) Sadlowski; son, Stephen (Leah) Sadlowski; and son, Raymond (Paula) Sadlowski. She also leaves behind nine grandchild and eight great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
Rose was a spirited, strong willed, independent, opinionated, and a generous women. After raising her three sons in the Detroit metro area, Rose and Ralph took on a challenge almost comparable to early frontiersmen. In 1974, they moved their lives to a isolated place here in Northern Michigan. Living in a tiny mobile, they managed life with only a generator, a hand well pump, and a large garden. They slowly built what became a warm and welcoming home, where friends and family near and far came for vacation. Rose reveled in the company, always entertaining the constant flow of visitors, with her home cooking and lively conversation. Rose's real pride was the half acre garden she meticulously maintained, growing fruits and vegetables that she canned and passed out to friends and family. With the arrival of each grandchild, Rose became a caring nurse, a creative chef, their strictest teacher, their most boisterous cheerleader, and a friend on whom they could always depend on.
She will be tremendously missed.
She is to be cremated and ashes brought together with those of her husband Ralph. Memorial and celebrations of her life are still pending at this time and will be announced at a later date.
