Shirley Irene (Moyer) Griffin

     Shirley Irene Griffin, 87, of East Jordan and formally of Boyne City, died Wednesday July 17th, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.

     She was born December 22, 1931 to Harold and Zada Moyer. She married Charlie Griffin on November 8th, 1952 and he preceded her in death on August 6th, 2009. Shirley sold Avon for many years, worked for United Technologies in Boyne City, and was the Boyne City Schools playground supervisor.

     Shirley is survived by a son Chuck (Tracy) Griffin of Bay Shore, two daughters Margret (Lyle) Bennett of East Jordan, and Norma Griffin of Boyne City. Grandchildren Michael Carr of North Carolina, Heidi (Mitch) Boyd of Boyne City, Carlistie (Anakin) Chingwa of Harbor Springs, Nathan Griffin of Alanson, and Haley (Shane) Griffin of Conway. Great grandchildren Kaden Boyd, Zayne Boyd, Lehi Boyd, Camden Csokas, and Lilyann Carr. Sisters Marlene Groh, and Mildred Moyer, And Brothers Ed (Nancy) Moyer and Ervin Moyer.

     She was preceded in death by her daughter Maryellen, brothers Leroy and Raymond Moyer, and sister Clarabell Evans.

     Memorial service will be held on Saturday July 20th 2019 at the Nazarene Church in Boyne City. Officiated by Bryan Cheever and Ross Corne. The family was served by Pezien Funeral Home.
