Warren J. Solgot

  Warren J. Solgot, 79, of East Jordan, stepped into Glory Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan.

  He was born on October 1, 1939, in China Township, St. Clair County, Michigan, the son of Henry Louis and May Bertha (Cottrell) Solgot. 

  He married Karen Lee Smith on December 13, 1958, in Algonac. 

  Warren was quite the entrepreneur, owning numerous gas stations, auto parts store and related businesses, all down state.  It wasn’t until his retirement that he moved his family up north and eventually owned and operated J, K&W Salvage just south of East Jordan.

  He was a member of the Harvest Barn Church in East Jordan and also attended Jordan Rivers Church, just north of East Jordan.  He was also very active in the Willing Branches Ministries, holding Bible studies every Monday evening.  He also traveled to Mexico and Chili on Mission Trips.

  Warren is survived by his wife, Karen Lee Solgot of East Jordan; three children, Sharon Solgot of East Jordan, Cynthia (Ronald) Chitwood of Marine City and Kenneth W. Solgot of Alanson; seven grandchildren, Lori (Bradley) Smith of Mancelona, Billie Jo Solgot of East Jordan, Cody (Kari) Solgot of East Jordan, Rodger (Arlene) Davis of Marine City, Shawn Davis of Marine City, Britni Solgot of Wolverine and Kenneth J. Solgot of Alanson; eighteen great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Kenneth, Carl and Henry; and two sisters, Donna and Katherine.

  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at 2:00 P.M. at the Harvest Barn Church, 210 S Lake St, East Jordan, MI 49727.  Rev. Kimon Criner will officiate.  Interment will be in the spring at Morehouse Cemetery, Echo Township, Antrim County, Michigan.

  The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until service time at church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Grandvue Medical Care Facility, 1728 S. Peninsula Road, East Jordan, MI 49727.  Arrangements were handled by the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc., East Jordan.
