Arloha Joyce (Scott) Norton

 Arloha Joyce Norton, 90, passed away on December 26,2020 at her sons’ home in Boyne City surrounded by family. She was born on November 19, 1930 to Ralph and Edith Scott in Saginaw Mi. Arloha and her family later moved to East Jordan where she married Mitchell Norton

Arloha married Mitchell Norton April 5th 1952. Arloha and Mitchell made a home together in East Jordan MI where they raised their four children Eugene Norton, Thomas Norton, Mary Sitter and Patricia Norton. Arloha worked at Grandview Medical Center in the kitchen for 29 years before retiring in 1991. Arloha enjoyed her retirement spending time with her Family. Arloha later moved to Ferndale MI. where she worked in the lunchroom at Coolidge Schools. Arloha eventually made her way back to Northern Michigan and made a home in Kalkaska with her daughter Patricia. Arloha enjoyed baking, sewing, crocheting and being with her many great grandchildren and great - great grandchildren.

Arloha is survived by her four children Eugene Norton of East Jordan, MI; Thomas Norton of Shawboro, North Carolina; Mary (Tim) Sitter of Ferndale, MI; and Patricia Norton of Kalkaska MI; Her Sisters Lillian Martinek; Marian Rosas, Marjorie Steinhoff; Loretta McNutt and Brother Stanley Scott;  Her grandchildren Shawn (Catrina) Norton, Damon (Amy) Norton, Rachael (James) Mcgee, and Michael (Nicole) Sitter. As well as many nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and great – great grandchildren.

Arloha was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Edith Scott, brothers Francis, Clover, and Ralph as well as her beloved husband Mitchell.

Per Arloha’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

A graveside memorial will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. at Sunset Hill Cemetery, East Jordan.
