Arthella M. Dickerson went to be with her hubby in heaven on May 25, 2024.
Arthella was born July 29, 1933, on the Millspaugh Cherry Farm on Wildwood Harbor Road in Boyne. She was bom to Art and Elzada (Gardner) Erfourth. She was in the class of 1951.
On June 22, 1963, she married Jim Dickerson in Flint Michigan. After retiring they moved up to Camp Ten Road in Elmira on their little 20 acre farm with their pets, a horse, a dog and four cats.
Arthella retired from the United States Post Office after 27 years, a job she loved. She enjoyed making quilts as a hobby. She was a member of the Boyne Valley Garden Club and the Monday Study Club and had been, in years past, very active in her church.
She is survived by her adopted daughter, who was very close to her heart, Tami Fischer and her family, Scott Balzer (Brandy), Amie Carter, Ryan Balzer and her grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mayjo Erfourth, niece Marilyn (Larry), nephew Gary (Beth), niece Bethany (Rich) as well as her cousins Margaret Bennet (Lyle), Eddie Moyer, Marlene Groh, Bruce Gardner and her beloved dog Scooter. Arthella is preceded in death by her husband, James and her parents, Arthur and Elzada Erfourth and her beloved brother Ray.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at First Presbyterian Church in Boyne City with a luncheon to follow. The family will receive friend on Friday at 10:00 until service time.
