Barbara Kay Rebec, 79, died Friday, October 16, 2020, at her home in East Jordan.
She was born on May 15, 1941, in Detroit, the daughter of Theo and Anna (Derenzy) Jeffery. She grew up in East Jordan and graduated from the East Jordan High School in 1959.
On May 12, 1962, in Lansing, she married Martin Albert Rebec.
Barbara worked as an office Manager for Burnett Foods in East Jordan. Afterward her retirement, she worked for CB North Bank in Charlevoix until they closed.
In her spare time, her hobbies included cake decorating specifically wedding cakes, playing bingo, going to the casino with her husband and spending time with family.
She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Tarvis of Ypsilanti; two grandchildren, Abigail Elizabeth Tarvis and Trevor Joseph Tarvis, both of Ypsilanti; a brother and sister-in-law, Ted A. & Toni Jeffery of East Jordan; a sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Cal Diller of East Jordan; a brother-in-law, Robert Sherman of East Jordan; several nieces and nephews; as well as her caregiver, Michelle Russell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Albert Rebec on April 21, 2020; her parents, Theo and Anna (Derenzy) Jeffery; a sister, Susan Sherman; and a nephew, Teddy Jeffery.
No services are scheduled at this time.
