Brian Dennis Dowling

Brian Dennis Dowling (66) of East Jordan, Michigan, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, March 5, 2026.

Brian was born in Valdosta, Georgia, on 09/07/1959. He was raised in San Antonio, Texas, home of Lackland Air Force Base, where he met the love of his life, Diane, while studying Russian at the Defense Language Institute. He wed his bride in Las Vegas, and it became their beloved home. Their sons were born and raised there. Brian was a stay-at-home dad years before it was fashionable. He taught himself medical transcription and worked from home. He taught Diane, and they worked side by side until Brian was forced to retire due to health reasons.

In 2010, Brian and Diane relocated to her home town of East Jordan, Michigan. Brian loved northern Michigan and truly became a Michigander, but never gave up his Texas boots.

He is survived by his wife, Diane, son Sean Jason, daughter-in-law Starr, grandsons Vincent and Jack, brothers Mark and Scott, his mother-in-law Ruth Ann Sheridan and extended Sheridan family, and Jazmyne Heard (the daughter of his heart).  He was predeceased by his first born Robert Thomas, father Robert Leroy, brother Kevin, and father-in-law Tom Sheridan.

Per Brian's wishes, there will be no funeral. He will be cremated and will be interned at St. John Nepomucene Praga Cemetery upon Diane's death.
