Carl Melvin Gee

  Carl Melvin Gee, 82, of East Jordan died Saturday, August 10, 2024, in Boyne City.

  He was born in Petoskey, on June 21, 1942, the son of Earl Corklin and Marjorie Maude (Puckett) Gee.

  On August 30, 1969, in East Jordan, he married Ruth Porter.

  Carl had been a member of the Golden Gloves and in East Jordan, he taught boxing.

  Carl had worked for W.A. Porter when he was younger.  He spent most of his working life in the Department of Public Works for the City of East Jordan. He retired in 2007.  Afterward, he worked maintenance at the residence for Fred and Barb Malpass.

  He is survived by his wife, Ruth Gee of East Jordan; daughter Patty Hellebuyck of Bloomfield Hills; son, James (Amy) Gee of Boyne City; five grandchildren, Katelyn Hellebuyck, Nicole Hellebuyck, Emily Hellebuyck, Liam Gee and Vera Gee; one sister, Ruth Tryon of East Jordan; and several nieces and nephews.

  He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Ray, Garey “Buzz”, Earl and John Gee.

  A celebration of life gathering will be announced at a later date.
