Carl L. Young

  Carl L Young, 87, of East Jordan, went to be with his Lord on Friday, February 28, 2020.

  He was born on September 18, 1932, in Niles, Michigan, one son of the thirteen children of A. Clyde and Gladys M. (Coon) Young.  On April 18, 1953, in South Bend, Indiana, he married Beverly A. Werner.  They came to East Jordan on June 30, 1987.  She passed away on January 26, 2009.  On September 12, 2009, in East Jordan, he married Nina Cosier Moore.  She survives.

  He was a devoted member of the Lighthouse Missionary Church in East Jordan.  He enjoyed farming and driving truck.  He loved John Deer Tractors.

  Carl is survived by his wife, Nina I. Young of East Jordan; one daughter, Cindy  (David) Holloway of Upland, Indiana; two grandchildren, Kyle Holloway of Bogota, Colombia, South America and Kara (Cody) Younce of Van Buren, Indiana; three step-children, Beth (Tony) Knebl of East Jordan, Bev (Ross) Brooks of Petoskey and Brenda (Steve) Drenth of Tennessee; five step-grandchildren; seven step-great grandchildren; one sister,  Marjorie DePyl of Buchanan; as well as many nieces and nephews.  He was also preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Everett Lee Young; and three sisters, Lois Root, Mae Dalby and Ruth Dyer.

  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at 1:00 P.M. at the Lighthouse Missionary Church in East Jordan.  Rev. Bart Adams will officiate with burial in the spring at Lakeside Cemetery, East Jordan.

  The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Lighthouse Missionary Church in East Jordan.  Memorials may be given to Lighthouse Missionary Church, 7824 Rogers Road, East Jordan, MI 49727.  Arrangements by Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc., East Jordan, MI
