Carol Janean (Ballard) Lord

  Carol J. Lord , 71, of East Jordan, Died on Sunday, January 12, 2025, in Petoskey, Michigan.

  She was born on May 31, 1953, the daughter of Charles Albert and Evelyn June (Olds) Ballard in Bellaire.

  She grew up in Alba.  Carol graduated from Alba High School in 1971.  She married Richard Lord on April 21, 1979, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in the Bohemian settlement near East Jordan.

  Carol enjoyed flower gardening, collecting rocks and taking long car rides.

  She is survived by her husband, Richard Lord, Sr. of East Jordan; five children, Charles (Barbie) Lord of Alba, Richard (Bobbie) Lord, Jr. of Gaylord, Glen Lord of East Jordan, Jason Lord of East Jordan and Timothy (Tiffany) Lord of Arizona; two brothers, Albert E. (Faith) Ballard of Chehalis, Washington and Robert D. (Cindy) Ballard of East Jordan; two sisters, Coralyn (Sheldon) Crouch of Elmira and Valma R. Hoover of Kentucky; fifteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Albert Ballard and Evelyn (Olds) Ballard; on brother, Russell W. Ballard; and one niece, Jessica Mare (Ballard) Robtoy.

  A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at the Lighthouse Missionary Church, East Jordan.  The family was served by the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc., East Jordan.
