Carolyn “Connie” Joan Johnston, 77, of East Jordan, died Monday, July 4, 2022, surrounded by her family, at Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan,.
She was born on November 2, 1944, in Arkansas, the daughter of Arthur and Minnie (Johnson) Johnston.
After living in a variety of places, she settled in the Detroit area where she gave birth to her three daughters.
In the late, 1980’s, Connie married Jim Goebel and relocated to East Jordan, where she raised her family. Connie instantly fell in love with the East Jordan area and would lovingly call it home for the remainder of her years.
She and Jim ran a number of businesses through the years but they are most known for running “Jim-n-I Karaoke” for 20 years throughout the area.
She is survived by three children, Angie McCall, Carrie (Ben) Macks and Regina (Pete) Inman; four grandchildren, Nathan McCall, Kaitlin John, Juliet Inman and Nora Inman; two great grandchildren, Juniper John and Jade John; and one sister, Bernice Johnston. Connie was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; four sisters; and one son-in-law, Raymond McCall.
Connie was a devout and faithful follower of Jesus Christ even though she had many trials and illnesses through the years. She has now gone on to be with her Lord and Savior.
Her light and love will live on through her family, who loved her without limitation.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at 4:00 P.M. at the Lighthouse Missionary Church, East Jordan. Rev. Bart Adams will officiate.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 3:00 P.M. to service time.
