Cathryne “Cathi” Haney, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.
Cathi was born to Maurice and Mary Jo (Blaha) Kraemer on January 8, 1952. She graduated from East Jordan High School class of 1970. Later that same year on September 12, 1970, she married Charles Haney. Together they built a life full of laughter, love and family.
Cathi retired from Glen’s Market, now known as Family Fare, after 31 years of dedicated service, where she made many lifelong friendships. In her free time, she loved playing cards, sharing a cold beer with good company and taking trips to the casino. Above all else, Cathi loved spending time with her grandchildren. They were her “Pride and Joy”!
She is survived by her children, Charles Haney, Jr. and Cindy (Troy) Thomas; her grandchildren, Abby Haney, Anna Haney, Sawyer Thomas and Ethan Thomas; her siblings, Judy Kotalik, Chuck (Gloria) Kraemer, Carol Bartlett, Steve (Lori) Kraemer, Tim Kraemer, Chris (Kris) Kraemer, Lori Dell and Bill Kraemer; and many cherished nieces, nephews and friends.
Cathi was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Haney; her parents, Maurice and Mary Jo Kraemer; her brothers, Tommy, Pete and Jerry Kraemer; and her nephew, Pete Kraemer.
Cathi will be remembered for her quick wit, big heart, and the joy she brought to everyone who knew her. Her laughter and love will live on through her family and the lives she touched.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc., East Jordan. Pastor Shane Chellis of the East Jordan Cornerstone Church will officiate.
