Christina Helen (Whitney) Skop

  Christina H. Skop, 82, of East Jordan, died on Thursday, December 16, 2021, in Charlevoix.

  She was born on November 10, 1939, in Flushing, the daughter of Jesse and Florence (Ardill) Whitney. 

  On September 27, 1958, in Elmira, She married Richard R. Skop. They made their home in Elmira and later in East Jordan, and raised six kids. 

  Christina is survived by three sons, Terry (Brenda) Skop of East Jordan, Duane Skop of East Jordan and Scott Skop of East Jordan; three daughters, Sherry Roof of East Jordan, Cindy (Ken Warren) Skop of East Jordan and Debbie (Jim) Cesaro of East Jordan; twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Carrie (Bill) Hoover of Kingsley and Vera (Joe) Herington of Bitely; as well as several nieces and nephews.  Christina was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Skop on June 11, 2017; one granddaughter, Dana Skop Phipps; her parents; four brothers, Vern Whitney, Ray Whitney, Stuart Whitney and Clayton Whitney; and three sisters, Hazel Grant, Martha Loree and Joyce Whitney.

  A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. at Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be directed to Good Samaritan Food Pantry.
