Clarence Edmund La Cross, 77, died Thursday, November 3, 2022, at his home near East Jordan.
He was born on May 11, 1945, in Alpena, the son of Gordon and Dorothy (Edmonds) La Cross.
He graduated from Inland Lakes High School, Indian River, in 1966. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict.
On April 24, 1971, in Petoskey, he married Anne Kathryn Petrowski.
Clarence worked most of his life as a fabricator using wood and steel. He designed and built La Cross Snow Groomers to groom trails for snowmobiles.
He was a charter member of the East Jordan Sno Mobilers Club, now known as the East Jordan Trailblazers, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Jordan.
Clarence is survived by his wife, Anne K. La Cross; two children; Daphne (Marvin) La Cross – Kilpatrick of Brutus and Donald La Cross of East Jordan; grandson, Gage Kilpatrick of Brutus; and two sisters, Virginia Ashford of Indian River and Mary Kaiser of Indian River. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, David La Cross and one sister, Carol Burwell.
