Diane Theresa Roberts

  Diane Theresa Roberts, 83, of East Jordan, went to be with her Lord on Monday February 24, 2020, at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey, Michigan, surrounded by family.

  She was born on September 8, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Steven and Theresa Paterka.  At a young age, she lost her mom, Theresa.  Her father later remarried to Martha Svoboda and they raised Diane in Charlevoix, Michigan.

  On September 17, 1955, she married the love of her life, Robert Thomas Roberts.  Together they made their home in East Jordan and raised six children.

  Diane enjoyed reading, puzzles, playing games on her computer and gardening.  She was a loving wife, mom, grandma, great grandma and sister.

  She is survived by six children, Kenneth (Mary) Roberts of Indian River, Lorraine Roberts of East Jordan, David (Jerrilynn) Roberts of Port Huron, James (Lora) Roberts of East Jordan, Margaret Ann Avendt of Gaylord;  daughter-in-law, Pam Roberts of Gaylord; twenty grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Steve (Kathy) Paterka of Charlevoix and Charles (Judy) Paterka of Ann Arbor; one sister, Sally (Victor) Malkowicz of Boyne Falls; and several nieces and nephews.

  She was preceded in death by her moms, Theresa and Martha Peterka, Father Steven Paterka, husband, Robert Thomas Roberts, Sr., son, Robert Thomas Roberts, Jr. and granddaughter, Samantha Hoffman.

  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at 1:00 P.M at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan.  Rev. Fr. Peter Wigton

will officiate.  Interment will be in the spring at Sunset Hill Cemetery, East Jordan.

  The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan, MI.  A rosary service will be held on Saturday at 12:30 P.M.   Memorials may be given to the Roberts Family.
