Douglas Allen Stark 63 of East Jordan passed away Friday June 21, 2024, surrounded by his family.
He was born November 1, 1960, to Vernon & Delores (Sulewski) Stark in Toledo, Ohio. In 1971, he moved to East Jordan with his family where they opened Four Seasons Marina. He graduated from East Jordan High School in 1979. He worked for his dad as a marine mechanic and eventually took over the business with his brother Dave. There wasn't a boat he couldn't fix!
In his younger years he was President of the East Jordan Men's fast pitch League and could always be found playing first base. He bowled for many years on the men’s league at The Zone. Doug loved to spend Tuesday evenings at the Mallard golfing on the men’s league. He was a huge U. of M. fan, along with the Detroit Tigers, and Lions. He loved watching local racing where he would always be in the sea of green cheering on his brother John racing the #57.
On July 9, 2011, at their home, he married Teresa Ann Stanek, she survives. Also surviving is his daughter Hillary (Brian) Cunningham; grandchildren, Jaedyn, Addison and Ryder; siblings, Dave (Cindy) Stark, John (Tina) Stark, Tom Stark, all of East Jordan and Diane (Otho) Frantz of Otisville. He was proceeded in death by his parents, brother, Robert and sister, Judy Dusha.
Doug loved to hang out with his friends and have a good time. Playing tambourine, doing the Dougie Shuffle, and belting out Yellow Submarine. To know Doug meant you knew " The nicest guy your ever gonna meet!"
