Ellen F. Moblo, 88, of East Jordan, died Saturday, July 14, 2018, at The Georgia House in Charlevoix.
She was born on August 23, 1929, in Alba, the daughter of George and Muriel (Mudge) Hammond.
She married Alfred C. Moblo on June 4, 1950, in Boyne City, Michigan.
Ellen had worked at Gulf & Western (now known as Dura), at Charlevoix Area Hospital (now known at Munson Heathcare Charlevoix Hospital) and for Dr. John Lignell in Charlevoix. In addition, she owned and operated a dairy farm utilizing draft horses.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, loved square dancing with her husband, gardening, snowmobiling and draft horses.
She is survived by five children, Loretta (Gary) Goetzman of Eastport, Walter (Judy) Moblo of East Jordan, Glenn (Kathy) Moblo of East Jordan, Larry (Dennis Figiel) Moblo of East Jordan and Terry Moblo of East Jordan; nineteen grandchildren; thirty eight great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; two brothers, Dick (Doris) Hammond and David (Joanne) Hammond; two sisters, Pearl Lake and Mary Jane Bryant; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ellen was also preceded in death by her husband on November 26, 2013; parents; one daughter, Virginia Coeur; and numerous brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan. Rev. Jason Richey of the East Jordan Community Church will officiate with interment following at Sunset Hill Cemetery, East Jordan
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan. Online condolences may be sent to www.penzienfh.com.
