Eugene Plite Obituary

Eugene T. Plite of East Jordan passed on March 9, 2023 at his home in East Jordan surrounded by his loved ones. Gene served in the US Army and the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. Gene and his wife, Jeanne, owned and operated the bowling center, Gemini Lanes, in East Jordan for nearly two decades. He also drove school bus for the East Jordan Public School system for 10 years. In retirement, Gene traveled the country in his RV, spent many hours on his cruiser boat Parajeans, and featured inmany parades and car shows in his ‘48 Willys Jeepster.

Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne, his parents, two brothers, and one sister. He is survived by his partner Peggy Johnson, his sons Robert (Lori) Plite, Ricky (Kris Lemonds) Plite, and Steven (Karin) Plite, daughter Christine (Randy) West,sister Ruth Chase, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Gene’s honor in the Spring of 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
