Everett Combest Jr. 59, of East Jordan, died unexpectedly but peacefully on Sunday January 26, 2025.
Everett was born on March 14, 1965 in Petoskey, MI, the only son of Everett Combest Sr. and Yvonne (McWatters) Combest. He grew up in East Jordan, MI and also attended school in Florida part time as his parents were snow birds. He graduated from East Jordan High School in 1983. He attended DeVry University in Illinois.
Everett worked at DME in Charlevoix for many years. He owned a pet store called “The Lucky Guppy. He has owned many pets throughout his life including his dogs Dolby, Bailee Blue, Rosie and Chase. He became a certified Audio Technician and had his own recording studio as Everett was passionate about music. Anyone who knew Everett knows he loves Rock n Roll and was the drummer for “Bad Dog Bites” and “Natural Reaction.” He also loved bass guitar as well.
Everett spent time traveling with his family visiting many states while growing up. Everett loved football, he played in school, watched his son play, and never missed a Lions game. He loved the outdoors from camping with family, going to Camp Jeep, and going down the Jordan river. He loved to create, draw, and build.
He will be remembered as a great father, friend, and a fun loving man who always loved to make people smile and laugh.
Everett is preceded in death by his parents Everett Combest Sr. and Yvonne (McWatters) Combest, and sisters Jean Lent and Beatrice “Bea” Russell. He is survived by his children Breanna Combest and Casey Combest, his sisters Ruth Crain, Linda Merrill, and Marilyn Williams, uncles, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Lighthouse Missionary Church on Friday March 14, 2025 at 11:00am and a Celebration of Life held at the Jordan Inn afterwards.
