George Edward Kotalik, 81, of East Jordan, died on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Grandvue Medical Care Facility, East Jordan.
He was born on January 2, 1940, in East Jordan and lived his entire life in East Jordan.
George married Judy Lee Kraemer on August 25, 1979, in East Jordan.
He drove truck and was heavy equipment operator. George enjoyed hunting, NASCAR and antique cars. George was well known for participating in car shows and was very successful with his entries. He was particularly proud of his prized red and white 1955 Chevrolet.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Judy L. Kotalik of East Jordan; nine children, Darcy (Sandra) Kotalik of Boyne City, Gary (Angela) Kotalik of Swartz Creek, Jeff (Juli) Kotalik of Linden, Julie (Dwayne) Degaynor of Linden, Rich Raymond of East Jordan, Kelly (Chris) Matelski of Boyne Falls, Kirk (Jen) Raymond of East Jordan, Kevin (Vangie) Raymond of Saucier, Mississippi, and Jim Raymond of East Jordan; twenty-six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Ann Kotsch of East Jordan; one brother-in-law, William Merwin of East Jordan; one sister-in-law, Sally Kotalik of East Jordan; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Melvina “Melzie” Kotalik in 2016; one son, John Kotalik in 2020; three sisters, Margaret Ann Kotalik at birth, Judie Merwin in 2019 and Charlene “Weenie” Brennan in 2017; and one brother, Edward J. Kotalik, Jr. in 2013.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 15, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan. After cremation, his remains will be interred in St. John Nepomucene Praga Cemetery in Jordan Township, Antrim County, MI. No other services are scheduled.
