James Brown Obituary

 James Patrick Brown, 57, died Friday, January 21, 2022, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Ironton.

 He was born on March 2, 1964, in Grand Rapids, the son of Henry J. “Bud” and Dorothy Evelyn (Ingalls) Brown.  He graduated from East Kentwood High School in 1982.  After high school, he served in the United States Air Force.

 On November 8, 1997, in Charlevoix, he married Cheryl Boyer.

 James drove truck for Preston Feather Lumber in Harbor Springs.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He loved high school sports and spent a lot of his time as a fan and sports booster.  He was President of the East Jordan Sports Boosters.

 James is survived by his wife, Cheryl Brown of Charlevoix; two children, James Henry Larry (Lacole Suess) Brown of Charlevoix and Cheyenne Brown of Charlevoix; four sisters, Peggy (Mike) Kelly of Wyoming, Kathy Bowerman of Dorr, Pat Uffman of Wyoming and Kelly Brown of Kentwood; and his uncle Jack (Marilyn) Brown of East Jordan.  He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Larry Boyer; and brother-in-law, Jerry Bowerman.

 A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at the Lighthouse Missionary Church, East Jordan.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening at church from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.  The family was served by the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc., East Jordan.
