Joseph Frank Shields

Joseph Frank Shields, 83, of Advance, died Thursday, April 9, 2020 in Petoskey.
He was born on June 5, 1936, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Max and Frances (McCall) Shields.
He was a successful businessman, an MSU fan, an avid boater, a Mason, and a Shriner.  

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn J. Shields of Advance; three children, 
David Shields of Anchorage, Alaska, Scott Shields of Boyne City and Caron (Bob) Withers of Charlevoix; four grandchildren, Jennie, Sarah, Steve and Brent; three great grandchildren, Seth, Brody and Giovanna; and one brother, Michael (Delores) Shields of Houghton Lake.  

Services will be announced at a later date.  Entombment will be at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint, Michigan.
The family was served by the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan.
