Karen Marie (Murphy) Blanchard
Obituary
Karen Marie Blanchard, 66, of East Jordan, died on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at McLaren Hiland Cottage Hospice House, Petoskey.
She was born on February 12, 1956, in Charlevoix, the daughter of Gale and Frances (Summerville) Murphy. She grew up and graduated from East Jordan High School in 1973.
Karen had worked at Dura in East Jordan and Armor Express in Central Lake. She had also operated her own lawn care business and cleaning businesses. For a period of years, Karen had waitressed at the Jordan Inn in East Jordan and at the Tannery in Boyne City.
She enjoyed painting, gardening and gambling at the casinos.
Karen is survived by a daughter, Angela Gotts, of Gray Court, South Carolina; a son, Kevin (Jessica) Allen of Craig, Colorado; a grandson, Andrew Gotts of Gray Court, South Carolina; a granddaughter, ResiAllen of Craig, Colorado; one sister, Donna Nemecek of East Jordan; and two brothers, Michael (Sharon) Murphy of Fayetteville, Tennessee and Tim (Lynne) Murphy of East Jordan.
A memorial luncheon will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at the American Legion #227 Rebec-Hosler-Sweet Post, 305 Main St, East Jordan from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.
The family was served by the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc., East Jordan.
