Katherine “Katie” Miller, 96, of East Jordan died Monday, December 8, 2025, in Charlevoix, Michigan.
She was born on October 30, 1929, in East Jordan, the daughter of John and Ellen (Grossett) Saganek.
On March 20, 1947, in Wyandotte, Michigan, she married Harold E. Miller. He preceded her in death on July 7, 2006.
Katie was a lifelong member of the East Jordan United Methodist Church, now known as East Jordan Cornerstone Church.
She was proud of mowing her own yard up to the age of 86. Katie enjoyed flowers, watching birds and squirrels. She had been an excellent baker. She enjoyed bowling in leagues and bowling in doubles with her husband, Harold, Sr. She enjoyed watching the old TV shows like “Perry Mason”, “Matlock” and “The Andy Griffith Show” as well cleaning. Katie loved to read, especially her “Bible”. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Oh how she loved her grandchildren.
Katie is survived by two children, Harold E. (Cathy) Miller, Jr. of East Jordan and Jill Marie (Eugene) Maze of Bellville, Texas; four grandchildren, Julie (Robert) Klepec of Bellville, Texas, Nick (Amanda) Miller of East Jordan, Mandy (Alex) Pascini of Bellville, Texas and Renae (Brenton) Eng of Marion; six great grandchildren, Kyle, Jacob, Ryan, Adam, Landen, Paisley and another on the way; sisters, Dorothy Hammond of East Jordan and and Regina McDonald of East Jordan; and brother, Donnie (Chris) Saganek of East Jordan.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Rosie Trojanek and a brother, Don Saganek.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 12:00 Noon at the East Jordan Cornerstone Church, 201 Fourth Street, East Jordan, Michigan. Pastor Shane Chellis will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until service time at the church.
