Keith Alan Mort, Sr.

  Keith Alan Mort, Sr., 86, of East Jordan, died on Friday, August 5, 2022, at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.

  He was born on May 29, 1936, in South Haven, the son of Arthur Carroll and Gladys (Yonker) Mort.  He graduated from Charlevoix High School and then served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

  On December 26, 1959, in Charlevoix, he married Beverly Ann Barraw.  He was a member of the Jordan Valley Baptist Church in East Jordan.

  Keith worked as a residential contractor for many years.  He enjoyed woodworking, working on cars and operating a ham radio.

  He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Beverly Ann Mort of East Jordan; one daughter, Leslie (Paul) Henderson of Odum, Georgia; one son, Keith Alan (Alice) Mort, Jr. of Citrus County, Florida; eight grandchildren, Mark Henderson, Bruce Henderson, Brad Henderson Keith Alan “Tre” Mort, III, Jeffery Smith, Breonna Roman, Daniel Roman and Britney Gianferrara; four great grandchildren, Gabriella Henderson, Mason Henderson, Isabella Henderson, Sydney Henderson and Ethan Roman; one sister, Pat (William) Denemy of Petoskey; three brothers, Jack (Jean) Mort of Deland, Florida, Jim (Alice) Mort of Petoskey, Chuck “Spike” Mort of Wildwood, Florida; as well as several nieces and nephews.  Keith was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald Mort.

  A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. at the Jordan Valley Baptist in East Jordan.  Rev. Silas Doctor will officiate with military honors following.
