Lorna Louise (Doidge) Peebles

Lorna Louise Peebles, 82, died on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at her home near East Jordan.

  She was born on June 24, 1942, in Detroit, the daughter of Jack Richard and Dorothy Pearl (Hunt) Doidge.  She grew up in Ann Arbor and attended Ann Arbor High School.

  Lorna married Jack J. Peebles in 1982.  He preceded her in death in 2021.

  She worked in the United States Postal Service for 20 years and served as the East Jordan Postmaster.

  Lorna had been a member of the East Jordan Senior Center, East Jordan Housing Commission and the East Jordan Lioness Club. 

  Lorna was a big sports fan, particularly MSU basketball and the Detroit Tigers. 

  Lorna also enjoyed playing bridge, card games, sewing, quilting, shopping for all and socializing. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

  Lorna was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother.

    She is survived by four children; Curt (Tina) Muir of Frisco, Texas, Deborah Muir of Frisco, Texas, Dylan (Rowland) Steele of Frisco, Texas and Conn Sedelmaier of East Jordan; four stepchildren; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and one brother, John Doidge of Pablo Alto, California. 

  A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

  The family was served by the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan.
