Lynda Lee Bigelow 78, died Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at her home in South Arm Township near Ellsworth, Michigan.
She was born on March 9, 1947, the daughter of Donald and Ethelyn (Brocker) Bigelow.
She grew up in Lapeer and graduated from Lapeer High School in 1965. She received her Bachelors and Masters degrees from Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
Lynda worked as an accountant for Charlevoix-Emmet Intermediate School District for many years and retired in 2012. After failing retirement, Lynda continued working independently for other entities.
Lynda was a free spirit and a lover of Nature. She enjoyed the great outdoors, skeet shooting, canoeing, sail boating, collecting and polishing rocks, golfing, camping, reading books and walking her beloved dogs, “Shilow” and “Ida Mae”. She was also an avid fan of the Detroit Lions football and the Detroit Tigers baseball.
She is survived by one son, Robert “Rob” (Quinci Anne) Castle of East Jordan; one daughter, Andrea Alberts of Seattle; one sister, Patty (John) Ommen of Sparr; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Michael Bigelow.
There will be a private celebration of life service later this year.
