Margaret June Arnott, 88, of East Jordan, died Sunday, December 18, 2022, at Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan.
She was born on June 29, 1934, in Boyne City, the daughter of Clive and Elsie (Abbey) Poquette. She graduated from Boyne City High School in 1952 and received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan in medical technology in 1956.
She married Donald Leslie Arnott on August 27, 1955, in Angola, Indiana.
Margaret worked as a medical technologist. She had worked for the East Jordan Health Center Lab since it started and retired in 1996. She also had worked for the City of East Jordan assisting in clerical matters.
She is survived by two children, Donna (Ken) Kline of East Jordan and Charles “Chuck” (Kathleen) Arnott of Shawnee, Oklahoma; two grandchildren Brenda Kline of East Jordan and Ashley (Chris) Bione of Oklahoma; and three great grandchildren, Alexander Clive Bione of Oklahoma, Emily Kline of East Jordan and Nathan Bione of Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two brothers, Frankie Poquette and Clive “Clivie” Poquette.
The funeral will be held on Monday, January 2, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan. Rev. Jaime Klinger of the First Presbyterian Church in East Jordan will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00 until service time at the funeral home.
A spring burial at Eveline Township Cemetery, Charlevoix County, will be announced at a later date.
