My parents, John and Elinor Van Dyke, and I were so sorry to hear this. Peggy was such a lovely person. I recall wandering around her home and garden entranced by the beauty in which she lived and worked. Once she included me in a dinner invitation when I was visiting my folks, and I remember one little detail from that night; after dinner we were washing up, and she mentioned how she never wanted a dishwasher, that she enjoyed the ordinary task of washing dishes after a good meal. That resonated, and I've enjoyed washing dishes ever since. My folks are reminiscing tonight as well, and pass along their condolences.

Dear Peggy,
I was five when we first met...... and you were a young bride from the city. I thought you were the most beautiful lady I had ever seen. And way ahead of your time (or our time) with your long skirts, sandals and lovely, long blonde hair. Although only a small child, you noticed me and spoke gently to me, thus initiating a life-long kinship. In my teens and as a young, married mother soft words of insight were imparted and appreciated. As I grew I came to realize how honored I was to be the friend of such a gifted and artistic woman. Now I picture you and my Mother 'catching up' and maybe snagging a trout or two for an evening cookout. I will still listen for your words of wisdom.
My sincere condolences to Wendy, Brian, Toby and his family........
Peace and love, Niki
