Mary Braman Obituary

Mary Dora Braman, 90, passed away on Sunday April 11, 2021, at her home in East Jordan.

  She was born on November 4, 1930, in Benton Township, Michigan, the daughter of Henry and Mabel (Erfruth) Eglinsdoerfer.  She graduated from East Jordan High School in 1949.

  She was the first Boyne City Mushroom Festival contestant winner and runner up in the Cherry Pie contest in 1948.  She had been a Girl Scout leader.  In her younger years, Mary had worked as a maid and waitress at the Jordan Inn, a school aide at the East Jordan Elementary School, a dealer for Stanley Home Products, employee at East Jordan Tool and Die as well as the Jordan Valley Greenhouse.

  On July 22, 2000, in East Jordan, she married Donald Braman. 

  She loved her flowers and plants. Her greatest testimony was that God had talked to her and told her not to worry. She asked everyone if they had been saved. She felt it was her mission to see her family saved and going to heaven.

  Mary is survived by her husband, Donald Braman of Springfield, Massachusetts; three children, Mike (Holly) Stark of East Jordan, Marvin Taylor of East Jordan and Deland, Florida and Diane (Jon) Ashley of Howard City, five grandchildren, Michael Stark, Levi Stark, James (Christina Miesiaczek-Habbard) Ashley, Jennifer Galusha and Jimmy Galusha; seven great grandchildren, Brianna Ashley, Tyler (Alexa) Ashley, Emma (John Bennet) Ashley, Mckinzie Johnson, William Ashley, Jon Ashley and Natalie Ashley; three great grandkids, Elijah, Ethan and Nevaeh; and three nieces, Sherry Doyle, Sandra Bruce and Dwan Stiles.  She was preceded in death by one grandson, Chris Ashley in 2002; her twin sister, Marion Stiles on September 12, 2020. as well as several nieces and nephews.

  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 14, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan.  Pastor Silas Doctor of the Jordan Valley Baptist Church and Rev. Bart Adam of the Lighthouse Missionary Church will officiate.
