Mary J. (Bricker) Muma

  Mary Jeanette Muma, 97, of East Jordan, died on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at the American House in Charlevoix.

  She was born on June 29, 1926, in East Jordan, the daughter of Zell and Jessie (Manke) Bricker.

  Mary grew up in the East Jordan and Ellsworth area.  She graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1945.

  She married John J. Hoffman in 1947.  He preceded her in death.

  On April 5, 1970, in Charlevoix, Mary married Willard Thomas Muma.  He preceded her in death on January 8, 2018.

  Mary enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, riding horses, going to the casino, but most of all, family dinners.

  She is survived by two children, Richard (Carol) Hoffman and Sandra (Timothy) Pienta; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives. 

  She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Elwood Bricker; and one sister, Lillian Gee.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at the East Jordan United Methodist Church.  The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc., East Jordan.
